This Thursday, German newspaper Bild published quite a strong interview with Bayern Munich fullback Rafinha, who is demanding to have more playing time in his position. Chelsea are brought into the player’s situation, but first Rafinha wanted to make his stance clear.

The Brazilian fullback has six appearances for the club this season, but none of them in his original role, which is on the right side of the pitch.

Speaking to the outlet, Rafinha claimed: “Everyone knows I’d rather play right back, that’s my position. I have been playing with Philipp Lahm for six years, and I have seen that I often had to sit on the bench. Don’t get me wrong: Joshua Kimmich is a super boy, but I also want to play, I also have to worry about my future.”

And by making the complaints, he obviously recalled that he’s still wanted by other European clubs: “I already had offers from England and Spain before this season. The responsible people know this. But they can always rely on me: FC Bayern is in my heart, I always give 100 percent. That is why I think that the responsible people understand that I want to play, but I have to think about my future.”

Another journalist from Bild, Christian Falk, published a tweet this morning saying that Chelsea was one of the clubs who made an offer to sign him in the summer.

He claims that Rafinha wants to play more, otherwise he’ll look for a new challenge. So that’s a clear ultimatum for the German side to take action regarding it.

Back in May, Sport Witness had already reported the player was considering a Premier League transfer due to his wish to play more, and would even think about a move to West Ham United, who had been linked to him at the time.

So if there’s any English club interested in an experienced right-back, it seems now’s the time to go and get him, or at least in one of the next couple of windows.

If Rafinha had considered West Ham, he’d surely jump at the chance to sign for Antonio Conte at Chelsea.
