Turkish newspaper Hurriyet have today revealed the details of Vincent Janssen’s loan move to Fenerbahce.
Yesterday the Tottenham Hotspur forward signed for the Turkish giants on a season long loan after it became apparent he wasn’t in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for this season.
Hurriyet claim Fenerbahce have agreed to pay Tottenham a fee of €2.5m to loan Janssen for the next 12 months, but the Turkish club don’t have a right of redemption for the Netherlands international. However, as yet there are no reports what percentage of Janssen’s salary Fenerbahce will cover, with the assumption being they’ll pay it all.
The Yellow Canaries have been in the hunt for a forward in recent weeks due to the early season form of Robin van Persie, and finally addressed this just before the Turkish window closed.
Janssen’s move to Istanbul gives the 23 year old a chance to kick start his career after a disappointing debut season at Tottenham. The Dutchman failed to make an impact in the last campaign, and with the recent signing of Fernando Llorente he became surplus to requirements under Pochettino.
Janssen was this week excluded from Tottenham’s Champions League squad, and a move to Fenerbahce gives the player a chance to rediscover the form he showed whilst with AZ.
Daniel Levy has done well to get Tottenham a €2.5m loan fee, especially if Fenerbahce are also paying Janssen’s wages.
