Already missing out on last season’s Premier League action due to a foot injury, Brice Dja Djédjé has once again been left out by his manager of the league squad, not featuring on the list of registered players for the upcoming campaign.
Bought from Marseille for just over £3m back in 2016, the 26-year-old has only made two appearances for the Hornets in over a year, both coming in the FA Cup, and only one of them being start, in a 1-0 loss to Millwall.
Hoping this season would be different, the former Ligue 1 defender just wasn’t good enough for Marco Silva, who, according to Sport-Ivoire, wasn’t impressed with the preseason effort Dja Djédjé put in.
It’s hard to see a way back for the right-back at Vicarage Road, but it’s also difficult to imagine another Premier League manager willing to risk signing a player who has barely played in a year, and who is clearly not good enough for England’s top-tier.
We can all agree a January exit would be wisest thing to do for all parties here.
