According to a report in the Turkish media, Josef de Souza is going ‘crazy’ after West Bromwich Albion pulled out of a deal to sign him.
A few days ago it was reported Fenerbahce had accepted West Brom’s offer, and a deal looked likely.
Sporx have reported on the latest developments involving Souza’s proposed move to West Brom, after reports the player hadn’t agreed personal terms with the Premier League side.
Sporx say the Brazilian midfielder had in fact accepted West Brom’s proposal and their paraphrase he said to them: “I accept your terms.”
However, it’s reported West Brom pulled out of the deal because they feared the transfer wouldn’t go through in time due to work permit issues, and their reply is paraphrased as: “You are late. The transfer deadline is tomorrow. We can’t get a work permit in time.”
Souza has an EU passport, it wasn’t thought he even needed a permit.
With West Brom signing Gregorz Krychowiak from PSG yesterday it always seemed like they would pull out of the Souza deal.
