According to claims in the Turkish media, West Bromwich Albion have offered to increase their offer to Fenerbahce to sign Josef de Souza.

The 28 year old has been linked with West Brom in recent days, but their initial offer of €11m was rejected by Fenerbahce.

CNN Turk have reported on the latest developments in West Brom’s pursuit for Souza. The Premier League side are keen to bring in the Brazilian to bolster their midfielder options before Thursday’s deadline, with claims from CNN West Brom have upped their offer to €11.5m.

The additional €500k would be to cover the loyalty bonus Souza is due from the Turkish giants, as he enters into his third season with the club.

However, it’s likely Fernerbahce will still have concerns about West Brom’s payment structure to sign Souza. Earlier today we reported West Brom have offered €4m upfront, with the remaining €7m being paid in two years.

NtvSpor said Fenerbahçe rejected the offer because of the structure, and West Brom will likely need to change that.

There have been suggestions in Turkey that Fenerbahce could be holding out for €13m, which West Brom wouldn’t be prepared to offer.
