Today it was confirmed FC Ingolstadt defender Florent Hadergjonaj has joined Huddersfield Town on loan for the season, with a right of redemption.
The Swiss international wanted to leave the German side, following their relegation to Bundesliga 2, and it’s been suggested it’s unlikely he will return to Ingolstadt.
According to German magazine Kicker, it’s ‘virtually improbable’ Hadergjonaj will return to Ingolstadt, after his loan spell with Huddersfield Town.
After the team were relegated last season, Hadergjonaj showed no intention to help them in the German second tier, and he made quite away he wanted to leave the club after just one season.
Staying at Huddersfield Town could depend on the West Yorkshire side remaining in the Premier League, but they’ve made a good start in their quest for survival, with victories in the opening two games.
For Huddersfield Town, Hadergjonaj will be the 9th player with Bundesliga experience in the squad – a clear proof of David Wagner’s wide connections in Germany.
