The last update from Argentina on Juan Foyth to Tottenham was all calm and peaceful.
Foyth was all set to join Tottenham, and the delay in him travelling to England was blamed on Estudiantes being cautious with the paperwork, and the defender wanting to take his whole family to London.
A representative of the player, named as Claudio Curti, had told Diario Hoy that Foyth would find out on Thursday when he’d travel to sign for Tottenham. It was all optimistic, with Foyth closer to his aim of playing for Mauricio Pochettino.
El Dia throw a big note of a caution on to all of that, insisting that PSG remain interested in Foyth, haven’t given up desite his preference for Tottenham, and will fight Spurs ‘until the last minute’ for the transfer.
That’s certainly a headache Tottenham don’t need.
El Dia also felt nervous over Tottenham signing Davinson Sanchez, but have spoken to sources at Estudiantes who assured them everything was progressing with Tottenham.
Foyth and his family will likely be travelling to Europe over the next week, probably to London… but Paris is nice this time of year.
