Turkish League side Yeni Malatyaspor have signed Aston Villa defender Aly Cissokho on a two year contract.
The newly promoted side have been chasing Cissokho since the start of the transfer window, and have finally confirmed his arrival.
During his press conference, Cissokho said he had multiple offers from Turkey last year, including from Galatasaray, but Aston Villa blocked the move.
The Frenchman has also been linked with Göztepe in this window, but the Turkish club dropped their interest in the player a few weeks ago.
NtvSpor have reported on comments the French left back made with regards to his move to Turkey: “I’m very happy to join this club. I want to join my new teammates and I’m very excited about the new season. I had a couple of offers from Turkey last season but the team I was playing for (Aston Villa) have blocked the moves.”
Cissokho spent the second half of last season on loan at Olympiacos, but the Greek side didn’t take up the option to sign him on a permanent deal.
