It’s no secret Newcastle star Georginio Wijnaldum is a transfer target for Liverpool, and the Merseyside club are in negotiations with the Championship side.
There have been conflicting reports on the transfer fee of Wijnaldum, and things are not exactly clear. There are also reports Newcastle might want a player in exchange.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Liverpool are hoping to reach an agreement with Newcastle by next week.
De Telegraaf reckon Liverpool will have to pay €25m for the services of the player, but he’s also attracting interest from Chinese clubs and other Premier League sides.
It is reported Wijnaldum could take a flight to China tomorrow, and be a multimillionaire, but his heart is set on a move to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player, and had been following him closely at PSV.
De Telegraaf say Mike Ashley could make negotiations difficult for Liverpool, and that he wants as big a fee as possible.
Ashley is hoping Everton turn their interest into something concrete in the coming days, whilst Tottenham are also interested.
On the other hand, Liverpool are hoping to stay ahead of others, and are also ready to quickly meet the player’s personal demands once they agree a fee for him.
