Loaned out to Roma for the 2015-16 season following the arrival of Chelsea’s Petr Cech for the starting goalkeeping position, Wojciech Szczesny seems more than likely to be remaining in Rome.
There were doubts whether or not Arsenal would want him to return there, especially if Roma weren’t prepared to pay the player’s wages, but according to Corriere dello Sport, these differences have been sorted out.
The Italian newspaper report in their Friday edition that the Polish goalkeeper is set to remain at the Serie A club after Arsenal agreed to pay a small part of the wages during his second loan spell.
With Petr Cech most definitely staying on next season as the club’s number one goalkeeper and David Ospina not complaining too much about sitting on the bench 75% of the time, there is no place for Szczesny at Arsenal.
At least, not for the time being.
