Galatasaray’s French forward Bafetimbi Gomis has spoken to the Turkish media about his spell with Swansea City.
Gomis said: “It was not easy for me. It was the first time that I’d left France and the club I signed for (Swansea) is not a well organised club. It was tough as I can’t speak English. So that’s one of the reasons that I can’t perform quite well. I caouldn’t really adapt and I wanted to leave.”
Gomis spent last season on loan with Marseille and was the top scorer with the Ligue side. It always seemed likely he would leave Swansea City this summer despite Paul Clement revealing the player could still be in his plans for next season.
After weeks of discussions, Galatasaray finally signed Gomis, despite the competition from Marseille.
The striker joined Swansea City from Lyon on a free transfer, scoring 13 Premier League goals in 65 appearances for the club.
