Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen is on the verge of a transfer to Huddersfield Town, with Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet pushing it for the second time in two days.
On Wednesday the newspaper reported that a source close to Huddersfield Town had told them the club were trying to build a deal for Zanka, and there was a lot of hope things could be done quickly.
Zanka had been more expected to move to the Bundesliga than Premier League, but Huddersfield Town’s interest has been building over the past week or so.
On Thursday, Ekstra Bladet report that Huddersfield will be getting the defender for a cut-price fee. FC Copenhagen had been looking at around 30m Danish Krone for their captain, but will instead be getting about 18m Danish Krone, which is about £2.1m.
It’s a gesture of goodwill from the Danish club and Zanka is being sent off to Huddersfield with the full blessings of his current side.
A nice, friendly, transfer.
