When there’s a new exciting French player on the block, you can guarantee that Arsenal are going to be thrown into the mix one way or another.
Move over Kylian Mbappé, the next big thing to come out of France and already on Arsène Wenger’s shortlist is Caen’s Yann Karamoh, according to TF1.
Fresh from finishing his first season in Ligue 1, the 18-year-old managed to pick up five goals and four assists at a club fighting against relegation, and stood out as one of the more promising youngsters to emerge from youth teams this year.
Incredibly quick and capable of skipping past players with ease, Karamoh is capable of playing eitherup front or on the wing, where his ability to cross the ball accurately would certainly help someone like Olivier Giroud find the back of the net regularly.
Where things get interesting is the fact the young forward only has one year left on his current contract with Caen, meaning something needs to happen this summer.
Either he renews or gets his club to accept offers for him if they land on their desk.
With the likes of West Ham, Inter, Fiorentina, Leipzig and Monaco all also interested, we doubt he’ll struggle in that department, but he will certainly prioritise a club where he will get first-team football.
Can Arsenal really afford to offer him that?
