There’s a claim in the Italian media that Napoli are showing interest in Brentford forward Mikkel Damsgaard.

It’s been well reported in recent days the Serie A side are in the market for a left winger, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the verge of signing for French giants PSG.

Arena Napoli journalist Gianluca Vitale today reports the Brentford player has emerged as a possibility for the Italian side if they fail to sign Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho in this transfer window.

It’s claimed the Manchester United man is Antonio Conte’s first choice to replace the outgoing Georgian international.

However, if they fail to convince the Old Trafford club over a deal for the 20-year-old, then they could turn their attention to Damsgaard. The Dane can play on the wing, but also as a No.10, which reportedly appeals to Napoli.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Timo Werner has also been linked with a move to the Serie A giants in recent days.

The 24-year-old has started 18 Premier League games for Brentford this season and is contracted to the Bees until June 2027.
