West Ham United have held ‘initial intensive talks’ with RB Leipzig regarding a deal for striker André Silva.

That’s according to BILD, who report that Leipzig will not stand in the way of any transfer for the Portuguese striker this month.

A report in England had claimed Silva was a ‘hot candidate’ for a loan for West Ham. They’re seeking a replacement for Niklas Füllkrug, who has picked up another injury.

BILD back this up and report ‘initial intensive talks’ with Leipzig have been held over Silva. The German side want to get their top earner off of the wage bill.

West Ham urgently need reinforcements up front after Füllkrug’s injury. They’re also missing Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen.

Thus, they could offer Silva ‘significantly more playing time’ than he’s getting in Germany. Manager Marco Rose indicated the striker was not happy in comments in his press conference today.

Silva is still expected to be in the squad for the clash against VfB Stuttgart on Wednesday. That could be his last game and RB Leipzig ‘would definitely not put any obstacles in his way’, though.

There’s no mention of what deal they would want, although West Ham may target a loan this month and go from there. Either way, Leipzig aren’t going to make life difficult, and the first talks have been held.
