Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos purchased a minority stake in Manchester United just over a year ago and took control of the Red Devils’ sporting operations.

Manchester United were Ineos’ third venture in football, after investments in OGC Nice and FC Lausanne-Sport.

Tuesday’s edition of Blick has published a detailed chat with Lausanne sporting director Stéphane Henchoz, where he discussed Ineos’ involvement in the Swiss club.

The newspaper suggested the Manchester United co-owner may lose interest in the Swiss Super League side. Their official was quick to dismiss that idea, and he is aware of the challenges that come with managing multiple clubs with different statures.

“I haven’t heard anything along those lines. Owning three clubs of different sizes can be very interesting,” he said.

“A world-class club like Manchester United, a top club like Nice and a smaller organisation like Lausanne-Sport opens up options for exchanging players. Our owner has no reason to part with any of the clubs.”

The sporting director remains hopeful the Ineos connection between Manchester United and Lausanne can end up benefiting his side. This means he wants Ruben Amorim’s side to send a few players on loan to Switzerland to continue their development.

Henchoz has stated a handful of young talents from the Premier League side have already trained with Lausanne

“I hope so. The English [club] can also benefit. Three talented Red Devils players trained with us for a week, accompanied by a delegation from Manchester. They were positively surprised by our work,” Henchoz explained.

“In any case, Lausanne can be an option for Manchester United players who still need to mature.”

The winter market is Manchester United’s third transfer window under Ineos, and they are yet to send a player on loan to Lausanne.
