Fulham have made initial contact with Andreas Pereira and his entourage to renew the midfielder’s contract.
That’s according to journalist André Hernan, who says Fulham have made the first move to keep the player at Craven Cottage.
Pereira has been heavily linked with a move away from Fulham for the past month after admitting in an interview in Brazil that he was sad not to move on in the summer. He also admitted he would be assessing his options for the future despite his happiness at the club.
Since then, Palmeiras have pushed to take him back to Brazil. They’ve convinced the player on the move and want him as their star signing ahead of the expanded Club World Cup in the summer.
Convincing Fulham has not been as easy, though. They’ve already rejected several bids and want to keep Pereira in Marco Silva’s squad.
Hernan now says that they have made initial contact with the 29-year-old and his entourage about renewing his contract. His current deal expires in June 2026.
He adds that negotiations with Palmeiras continue, despite Fulham’s wishes. The Brazilian side are currently considering increasing their offer for the midfielder.
Thus, it appears it is now a direct tug of war between the various parties, meaning we’ll be hearing plenty more about Pereira throughout the January transfer window.
