Torino fear there will be a ‘substantial delay’ to their efforts to get Beto from Everton thanks to David Moyes’ arrival as manager.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who believe there will be several factors at play which could stop the striker returning to Italy this month.

They say that while Beto is an ‘obsession’ for the Granata and they are working hard to get him to the club in this window, Everton are likely to be delaying matters.

That’s primarily because they have just appointed David Moyes, who will want to do his own assessments on the squad and rule on Beto before deciding if he can leave.

There is also the fact that Beto is currently Everton’s only fit striker, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti all out injured at this moment in time.

Broja’s injury particularly risks ‘slowing down’ Beto’s exit, and Torino fear a ‘substantial’ delay to their efforts to get him. There is certainly an acceptance any move won’t happen before next week at the earliest.

Discussions between Everton and Torino continue and the Toffees have lowered their demands from €25m to €20m. Torino want more off, though, and Beto needs to ‘reiterate’ to the club that he wants to go back to Italy.

Torino are hoping Everton will want to avoid keeping a player ‘with a stomach ache’ at the club and sanction a move. They’re waiting, knowing events at Goodison Park have slowed their progress.
