Earlier today, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Genoa have identified Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana as the ‘favourite’ target to improve their attack in the winter market.
He also said the winger’s profile fits perfectly into what Genoa manager Patrick Vieira is looking for.
Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport backs up part of Di Marzio’s claim and provides more on the Serie A side’s interest in the Southampton player.
The 22-year-old has struggled for regular minutes with the Saints since his failed move to Ajax last summer and made two league starts this season.
Genoa want to open their doors for the Ghana international in January and the newspaper states they have ‘started negotiations’ with Ivan Jurić’s side.
Di Marzio didn’t specify the details of the potential operation and Gazzetta state the Saints man can arrive at the Italian club on a loan deal. It looks like the they are moving fast in their efforts to try and sign Sulemana.
Vieira currently lacks sufficient options in attack and the Ghanian could favour joining Genoa to start regularly in the second half of this season.
