Three days ago, AS reported West Ham United are in the mix to sign Real Sociedad’s Brais Méndez.
It was also said the La Liga side are refusing to negotiate and the Hammers have to pay his €60m clause to sign him.
Super Deporte state the 27-year-old’s displays for the La Liga side have aroused West Ham’s interest.
The attacking midfielder has managed three goals and three assists from 22 games this season.
This has seen him attract the attention of the English clubs, ‘specifically West Ham’, and they are ‘willing to go all out’ to sign him in January. The report states the player’s €60m release clause is affordable for the Premier League side.
Should Julen Lopetegui’s side table a bid, Super Deporte claim Méndez will ‘do his part’ to convince La Real to accept the offer. Real Sociedad have no plans to part ways with him but are aware his entourage will put pressure on them to accept a bid, if there’s an offer.
This scenario is likely if West Ham were to make an offer to La Real and not trigger his clause.
A move to West Ham could benefit Méndez sporting wise and financially and therefore, he would favour joining them.
There could be developments if West Ham send an offer to Real Sociedad in the winter market.
