Burnley have identified Saïd Benrahma as a target to improve their squad in the winter market.

That’s at least what DZ Foot are reporting, and they share more on Burnley’ desire to sign the winger.

He joined Lyon from West Ham on loan in January and his stay was made permanent in the summer.  The 29-year-old could return to England in the next window as Burnley are looking to secure his services.

The Championship side have ‘already contacted’ Lyon to find out about the possibility of bringing him back to England.

Burnley could consider taking him on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, and the report hasn’t mentioned if there are any conditions attached to it.

This would certainly be ‘advantageous’ for both clubs as Burnley are trying to not breach the financial fair play regulations. Lyon, on the other hand, can lower their wage bill.

Benrahma’s arrival could energize Burnley’s attack in their quest for promotion. Scott Parker’s side are currently third in the table, a point behind second placed Leeds United and four behind leaders Sheffield United.

As well as Burnley, unnamed clubs from the Middle East are also interested in the former West Ham man.
