Valentín Barco’s future is increasingly far from Sevilla, and it appears Brighton and Hove Albion are set to make an imminent decision on him.

That’s according to Diario de Sevilla, who report that the defender is considering his future after a less than successful loan spell at the Spanish club since the summer.

The newspaper reports that the Argentine is unhappy with the role he is playing at Sevilla and the possibility of breaking his loan and returning to Brighton is now being seriously considered for the first time.

Barco had not considered returning to Brighton until this point, despite reports to the contrary, but he has found himself continuing to be out of manager García Pimienta’s plans in recent weeks.

That’s helped to change his mind, and his entourage now consider the end of his time at Sevilla to be getting closer and closer.

Sevilla are aware of the growing desire but know it must be the Brighton man who makes the step to end his contract. They think his growing discomfort will, ultimately, accelerate his departure.

That’ll see him return to Brighton in January, where it remains to be seen what their plans for him are given he wasn’t considered an option worth keeping short-term in the summer there either.
