Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali was front page news in the Italian press yesterday.
Corriere dello Sport reported he has now emerged as a target for Juventus and they stated that Newcastle United value the Italian midfielder at €55m.
The Old Lady, it was mentioned, would be happy to sell players like Nicolo Fagioli and Kenan Yildiz to fund a Tonali swoop.
Former Juventus manager Luigi Maifredi spoke to TMW Radio about the rumours yesterday and he refuted the idea of letting Yildiz go to sign the Magpies star.
He said, as relayed by MilanNews: “Yildiz is a champion, someone who can give you something more at certain times.
“Tonali is a very good player but Yildiz has something more, he has to grow, he has to find his role and Motta has to help him.”
While Maifredi is clearly not a fan of a deal which could see Juve sell Yildiz to fund a move for Tonali, the Newcastle United man’s agent has already rubbished talk of an exit from St James’ Park.
The ex-AC Milan man also grabbed a brace against Brentford in the Carabao Cup yesterday and this came after manager Eddie Howe had laughed off the rumours that the 24-year-old wants to depart the club.
