Over the past week or so, we’ve covered claims from Brazil which stated Fluminense have made contact to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison.
On Monday, Fluminense president Mário Bittencourt publicly confirmed his side’s interest in the forward.
He also stated the Brazilian club have approached both Tottenham and the 27-year-old for a potential deal.
Richarlison had an 18-month spell at Fluminense before joining Watford in August 2017. They will face competition from Flamengo in the chase for the Tottenham player.
That’s according to UOL in Brazil, who report Flamengo are keen on bringing the former Everton man back to Brazil.
To do this, the report states Flamengo are willing to offer €20m to Spurs, but this isn’t enough to please the north London club, who are demanding €40m to sanction his sale. Tottenham have also warned they won’t consider a loan even with an option to buy.
Apart from the transfer fee, Flamengo will also have to convince the Brazil international. That’s because his priority is to continue in England even though there are opportunities to leave Ange Postecoglou’s side.
The South American picked up his second injury of this season in November and has been on the sidelines since then. He managed a goal and an assist from seven games for Spurs this season.
