On Monday, Versus in Paraguay reported it’s inevitable Julio Enciso will leave Brighton & Hove Albion in the winter market in search of regular game time.

It was also stated the Seagulls are refusing to sell the 20-year-old and would only let him leave on a dry loan deal.

The forward hasn’t made an appearance for Brighton since the end of October and has been limited to 84 minutes of action from seven league games. Fabian Hürzeler has left the Paraguay international out of the squad for the Seagulls’ last two league matches.

ABC TV had a chat with Paraguay manager Gustavo Alfaro about Enciso’s situation at The Amex.

The national team head coach has revealed that he’s held talks with the player, who will be leaving Brighton on a temporary deal next month.

“I was talking to Julio about everything that happened. He knew this was going to come, he knew because he spoke to the coach and because the coach expressed his point of view,” he said.

“We talked when he came here, that he had the chance to leave. So, I hope he can find a place where he can have continuity.”

The manager isn’t pleased with Enciso’s limited game time at the Premier League side and insists Brighton also want him to go out on loan to continue his development. Enciso is a key player for Paraguay and Alfaro is keen for him to have regular minutes.

“Brighton need Julio to add minutes and I think that between the agent and everything else we will try to give him the chance to continue in Europe to have minutes and have continuity. He is a very important player, the more minutes he adds, the better he will perform,” Alfaro explained.

Brighton and Enciso now need to find a new club in January.
