Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Boca Juniors’ Kevin Zenon for many months now.

A host of other clubs have also been spoken of as potential suitors but it now seems as if Newcastle are becoming a rather prominent candidate to land the Argentine.

L’Interista have reported on the chase for the winger, who scored for Boca Juniors against Newell’s Old Boys yesterday and took his goalscoring tally to six in all competitions this season.

The report states that while Inter Milan are keeping a close eye on Zenon, Premier League interest is growing in the 23-year-old.

Newcastle are said to be ‘pole position’ for the player, with Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Lyon also said to be interested parties.

As of now, the Magpies are thought to be the most advanced in the chase and are considering a move next summer.

The feeling is that Boca need funds to reinvest in their squad. Zenon has a release clause of €15m, and the Argentine club are trying to increase that clause to €20m.
