Sevilla manager García Pimienta has ‘hinted’ Brighton & Hove Albion’s Valentín Barco can leave in the winter market, according to Estadio Deportivo.
Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler left the 20-year-old out of his core plans this season and Barco joined the La Liga side on a season-long loan deal in the summer window.
The left-back has seen his game time limited at Sevilla, with 376 minutes from eight games so far. Since the start of October, he’s been restricted to 39 minutes from two league games.
Recent reports have stated the Argentine’s loan stay at the Andalusian club will be cut short in January. Last week, the Brighton man dismissed these claims and insisted he isn’t planning on a transfer in the winter market.
This hasn’t stopped Pimienta from hinting that the South American could ‘end up getting fed up’ with his situation at Sevilla.
“There’s a whole month left, players who are not playing are starting to participate. When the January market arrives, we will sit down to talk and even players who are not playing may perhaps ask to leave because they are not happy with their situation,” he said.
On Thursday, the Andalusian club will face UE Olot in the Copa del Rey and Estadio state this clash may provide Barco an opportunity to enjoy minutes.
If there’s no improvement in his situation in the coming weeks, the Seagulls have to make a decision in January.
