Jurgen Klopp has spoken personally to attacker’s camp, ‘very aggressive’ recruitment from Liverpool

 

L’Equipe have a big Kylian Mbappe article in their Sunday edition, and Liverpool are one of the clubs included in the chase. In all honesty, it looks like Liverpool have been included just so L’Equipe can say Jurgen Klopp has spoken to the player’s camp, and underline the club’s ‘aggressive’ recruitment strategy.

Liverpool had to make a public apology to Southampton last week for their conduct in trying to sign Virgil van Dijk, the club also had to dropp their pursuit of the Saints defender. It’s not thought Southampton will now take the matter further, but it’s clear there’s serious annoyance at St Mary’s over Liverpool’s attempts.

L’Equipe say Liverpool are determined to recruit at the highest level this summer, and have a big budget to do so. Klopp is said to have taken the matter into his own hands and contacted Mbappe’s entourage last month, to try and persuade them Liverpool is a good destination for the young AS Monaco star.

Klopp put forward ‘simple and effective’ arguments for Mbappe to sign for Liverpool, but this transfer has very little chance of actually getting off the ground.

And L’Equipe, even though they include Liverpool in the list of suitors, say it’s ‘hard to imagine’ Mbappe is convinced.
