Manchester City and Real Madrid are in the picture to sign Al-Ahli’s Gabri Veiga, according to Estadio Deportivo.

The Middle East club paid €30m to sign the midfielder from Celta Vigo in August 2023 and he has featured regularly for them, when available for selection. Veiga has played 18 matches in all competitions this season and has a deal lasting until 2026.

Both Manchester City and Real Madrid are attentive of the 22-year-old’s situation, and he will have a year left on his contract next summer.

The player has to decide whether to continue and sign a new deal or return to Europe, where the Premier League winners and Los Blancos have been on their radar.

Estadio state Veiga could return to Europe at the end of this season and Al-Ahli could try to recover part of the fee they invested to sign him.

It’s further claimed the Spaniard is aware that both Manchester City and Real Madrid have his name on their agenda, but he won’t force a move.

It remains to be seen whether Pep Guardiola’s side will convert their interest into an offer next summer, if Veiga decides to change clubs.
