Club Brugge’s Ardon Jashari played the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Celtic and believes his side should have secured a win over Brendan Rodgers’ side on Wednesday.

Daizen Maeda’s 60th minute goal saw Celtic score the equaliser, cancelling the own goal scored by Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Both Celtic and the Jupiler Pro League side had three shots on target in the Champions League tie. The Scottish champions dominated possession while Club Brugge had two more shots [not on target] than their opponent.

After the tie, Sporza had a chat with a few Club Brugge players, including Jashari, who is of the belief the Belgian club should have walked away from Celtic Park with all three points.

The 22-year-old Switzerland international explained Club Brugge were aware of challenges of facing Brendan Rodgers’ side. He’s of the belief the visitors, who had a goal disallowed in the second half, managed it well.

“We knew it wasn’t easy to play here, but we were well prepared for the circumstances,” he said.

“I thought we played a good match, especially in the first half. And in the second half we also created chances and saw another goal disallowed. That’s why we deserved the three points, I think. A point gives you a different feeling.”

After yesterday’s draw in Glasgow, Celtic have eight points after five games and are in 20th spot, a point ahead of 22nd placed Club Brugge. The midfielder remains optimistic of his side making it to the next round of the competition.

“Now everything is still open. If we keep playing like this, anything is still possible,” Jashari explained.
