Leicester City parting ways with Steve Cooper, apparently for a multitude of reasons, sees the Premier League club looking for a new manager to steer them away from a relegation battle.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is thought to be the favourite at this moment in time, with West Bromwich Albion’s Carlos Corberán also getting a few mentions this week.
The Dutchman is a free agent having left Manchester United to pursue his own senior managerial aims, and was able to show some improvement in the brief time he had after Erik ten Hag’s exit.
HSV Hamburg are thought to also be keen, partly because Van Nistelrooy used to play for them. However, reports in Germany have made it clear that HSV have several candidates and don’t appear to be a in a rush to appoint one.
That would obviously hand the impetus to Leicester City.
Over in Spain, Marca obviously take a Spanish themed look. According to the famous newspaper, Leicester City are ready to pay Carlos Corberán’s release clause at West Brom.
They put the figure at €2.5m and Marca are quite matter of fact about it.
