Manchester United are ‘serious’ about a move for Napoli star Kvara Kvaratskhelia and have offered him €9m in wages to tempt him to Old Trafford.
That’s according to Sport Mediaset, who say Manchester United are ready to completely outgun Napoli financially as they try to get the forward tied to a new deal.
The newspaper reports that the Premier League ‘swoops on Kvaratskhelia’ and Manchester United are the ones who are serious about him.
They’re looking for an ‘outside striker’ to fit into Ruben Amorim’s system and are ready to tempt the Georgian with a five-year contract at €8m net per season. That would then include €1m in ‘easily achievable bonuses’.
That offer would be financially in line with the summer offer he received from Paris Saint Germain, which was worth around €10m.
Napoli are currently trying to get Kvaratskhelia signed to a new deal but there is no agreement between the two parties at this moment in time. Their offer is currently €6m including bonuses and the Italian side do not intend to go beyond that.
Manchester United are therefore offering €3m more and if Napoli can’t convince the player by next summer, they will open the door to a sale. Kvaratskhelia would be in the final two years of his deal at that point.
They would want around €100m but are open to there being a formula to reach that point rather than it being an outright payment. If it comes to that, Manchester United have ‘9 million good reasons’ to convince the Georgian star.
