Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hugo Bueno “has been suffering from pain for some time” and is now expected to spend an extended spell on the treatment table.

That’s according to Feyenoord manage Brian Priske, via 1908.nl, who has confirmed the Wolves loanee is set for another injury absence.

Bueno is spending the season on loan with the Dutch side and has been impressing when in the team. Indeed, he has even found himself being linked with a move to Barcelona.

The 22-year-old had hoped to be a regular for Feyenoord this season after it was made clear was not a part of Wolves’ plans for this season at least.

It’s been something of a mixed campaign in terms of playing time, though, as he picked up a muscle injury at the beginning of the campaign which saw him miss four games, including a clash with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

He had bounced back from that to impress in the last few months, but it seems injuries are set to ruin that again, with Priske confirming that the Wolves loanee is set for another spell out injured with a problem that is seemingly not a new one.

“Bueno has been suffering from pain for some time. That’s why we didn’t play with him against Almere City FC,” he said before the clash against SC Heerenveen.

“After the international match against Denmark he unfortunately felt it again, so he will probably not be available in the coming matches.”
