Charlie Patiño left Arsenal and completed a permanent move to Deportivo La Coruña in the summer window.
The midfielder didn’t get opportunities initially and there were questions raised over his decision to swap Arsenal for the Spanish club.
Patiño has clocked in 64 minutes from three games since making his debut for Deportivo La Coruña towards the end of September.
Thursday’s edition of Marca covers the 21-year-old’s situation since leaving the Premier League side.
The player graduated from Arsenal’s academy but couldn’t cement a place in their first team. The Gunners sent him out on loan to Blackpool and Swansea City before selling him to Deportivo La Coruña.
On October 30th, the Spanish club appointed Óscar Gilsanz as Imanol Idiakez’s successor and the current manager explains why Patiño’s signing hasn’t worked out so far.
“He’s one of the players we know the least about. We have to strengthen his defensive game so that he’s fully prepared to play,” he said, as quoted by Marca.
The newspaper ends their report by stating: ‘The club is confident and continues working, so his success as a Blue and Whites’ player is a matter of time.’
Time will tell…
