West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus hasn’t been able to replicate last season’s form for the Premier League side in this campaign.

The Ghana international arrived at West Ham from Ajax in August 2023 and finished his debut season with 18 goals and seven assists from 48 matches. He has two goals and an assist from 10 games under Julen Lopetegui this season.

Kudus has also struggled with the national team and has failed to score since his brace against Egypt in January.

Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has told Africa Foot that his performances for Ghana will not affect his chances of securing a transfer.

The West Ham man arrived in Europe for the first time when Danish side FC Nordsjælland signed him from Right to Dream. During his time at the Ghanaian academy, Kudus played under Kingston.

According to the former midfielder, the Hammers star has been courted by top clubs from his time at Right to Dream. He insists that’s unlikely to change despite his struggles with the national team.

“With Kudus, the guy. I’ve known him since he was 14, 15. With the kind of character he has, nobody can break him. Apart from his qualities and his potential, he’s got this positive state of mind,” he said.

“I know he’s going through a very difficult period with the national team, but Europeans see things differently. When you look at his performances from Right to Dream at FC Nordsjaelland, he was a leader.

“You can see that a lot of the big clubs wanted him [from a young age]. This kid was very intelligent. I don’t think his performances for the national team [will affect his chances of a transfer].”

Africa Foot haven’t mentioned any clubs that shown interest in Kudus. Recent claims in the UK have talked about interest from other Premier League sides.
