On October 3rd, Fotboll Direkt reported Crystal Palace are keen on signing Hammarby IF’s Bazoumana Touré.
Later that month, Expressen backed up the Eagles’ firm desire to secure the 18-year-old’s services in January. It was also stated Crystal Palace are preparing a bid as they want to take the lead in the transfer chase.
Hammarby manager Kim Hellberg had earlier backed the Crystal Palace target to make a switch to the Premier League.
The Swedish club consider the Ivorian lost as his transfer to England is ‘underway’. The report states Hammarby want SEK 100m [€8.6m] but haven’t specified where he will end up in the winter market.
With Touré set to make a switch to England, Hammarby have already started looking for his replacement in Africa.
Kim Hellberg and sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg both made a trip to Ghana and Ivory Coast last week. The two officials have looked at players who can directly replace Touré.
With Crystal Palace ready to make an offer for Touré, the latest report should come as a boost for them.
