FC Nantes’ Mostafa Mohamed has been identified as a transfer target for Leicester City.
That’s at least what Africa Foot are reporting, and they state Leicester are ‘looking to sign’ him in January.
The striker joined the Ligue 1 side on loan from Galatasaray in July 2022 and his stay there was made permanent the following year.
He managed eight goals and two assists from 29 league matches last season. Mohamed has seen his game time limited this season as he clocked in less than 400 minutes from 10 games, scoring a goal in the process.
It’s claimed the Egypt international has ‘expressed his desire’ to leave Nantes in the winter market. The Foxes have him on their radar and are aiming to secure his services.
The frontman’s contract at Nantes lasts until 2027, but they are willing to part ways with him in the next window. The report states the French club would need €10m to sanction his sale.
Africa Foot’s title says Mohamed is ‘close’ to making a switch to the Premier League. It’s to be noted this isn’t concretely backed up within the report.
