Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak has spoken to the Swedish press about the weather situation the national team is currently enduring in Spain.
Today Sweden haven’t been able to train at their Marbella training camp during to the torrential rain conditions in that area Spain and are now expected to return to Stockholm tomorrow.
Expressen have covered comments made by the Newcastle United player in a press conference this afternoon when he was asked about the red warning the Swedish players received on their mobile phones on Tuesday night.
Isak said he was concerned when he received this due to recent weather events in Spain. The attacker went on to say he hopes that the situation doesn’t get as bad as it has elsewhere.
“I got a little worried. You’ve seen in other cities in Spain how it’s been, so it wasn’t very fun. Hopefully it won’t be too crazy,” said the Newcastle.
Due to injury, Isak missed Sweden’s last two games in the UEFA Nations League but will be expected to start the game against Slovakia on Saturday, followed by the clash with Azerbaijan next week.
Isak impressed in this country’s opening two games in the competition, scoring a brace in the opening match against Azerbaijan.
The weather continues to worsen in the area Sweden’s camp is in, and it increasingly looks like a terrible decision to go there in the first place. There’s even worry that the return to Stockholm could be impacted.
