Leeds United’s Rasmus Kristensen is currently spending a fruitful loan stint at Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
The defender has played eight times in the Bundesliga so far this season, once again showing that he is someone who deserves to play top-flight football. He did well at times last season at AS Roma as well.
There was a suggestion some days ago that Eintracht Frankfurt were ready to trigger the option to buy the defender permanently.
That was refuted by club sporting director Timmo Hardung, who has now spoken to TipsBladet about the situation of the Leeds man.
He has confirmed that the Eagles are interested in signing him permanently and a decision will be made later.
“When you think about the squad next season, we will look at whether we want him permanently. Right now he is on loan with us until June 2025, so we have him secured until then. He is very important to us.”
Hardung went on to reiterate the fact that a final decision is yet to be made and that Kristensen will have a say in the move.
“It has not been decided yet, and we will have to talk to him about whether it could be the right thing for him. We also have to talk to Leeds to see if it is possible that we can sign him permanently.”
It has been previously reported that the German club would have to pay Leeds a fee of around €10m to €12m to sign the Denmark international permanently.
Earning that fee could prove to be valuable for the Whites, who had signed Kristensen from Red Bull Salzburg for £10m.
It may not help them earn a profit but considering how less the right-back has played for the English side, it will be a good yield for Leeds.
