Brighton and Hove Albion are working on a move for coach Daniel Niedzkowski as they continue to form Fabian Hürzeler’s backroom team.
That’s according to Kicker, who report that Brighton want Niedzkowski, and talks are well advanced for the 47-year-old.
Kicker state that Brighton have once again set their sights on Germany after the appointment of Hürzeler in the summer.
According to their information, the Seagulls are trying to secure Niedzkowski’s services. He’s currently the assistant coach for Germany’s U21 side and has also been in charge of football coach training since 2018.
Thus, the pair have a previous relationship, and he was a candidate to be Hürzeler’s assistant manager when Brighton hired him. That never happened but Hürzeler did appoint Jonas Scheuermann and Marco Knoop from Germany for his team.
That showed a willingness to explore that market for their backroom staff and Niedzkowski could be the latest addition.
Brighton are ‘eagerly courting’ him but have to reach an agreement with the DFB and the 47-year-old before anything can happen. Talks are ‘well advanced’, though, to make Niedzkowski the new ‘Head of Development’ at the club.
