Marcus Rashford could leave Manchester United for Napol next summer, but a move in the January transfer window is unlikely.
That’s according to journalist Gerardo Fasano, via Area Napoli, who believes Napoli’s strong forward options could block any move for the Manchester United man.
Rashford has endured a difficult start to the season once again, despite a record of four goals and three assists in13 games in all competitions to date.
Those are decent numbers in the context of last season, when he managed eight goals and six assists in 43 games in all competitions and a campaign that led to plenty of criticism.
The 26-year-old is tied to the club until 2028 but has increasingly found himself as the focus of criticism as they’ve struggled under Erik ten Hag over the last year following the Dutchman’s solid first season in charge.
Rashford shone in that season but has dipped considerably since and reports this week have seen him linked with a move away.
Napoli were named as serious suitors for him in those reports, but Fasano can’t see that happening, at least not in January.
“I don’t think he’ll arrive in January, also because the offensive department is already full,” he said.
“Furthermore, Rashford is a winger, but he can also play as a central striker. I don’t rule out that he could alternate with Lukaku next season. It would be a really strong attack!”
