Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin is unlikely to end up at Napoli in January, because he’d only be sat on the bench there as well.
That’s according to journalist Gerardo Fasano, who has dismissed the idea to Area Napoli despite the Tottenham defender continuing to be linked.
Dragusin has struggled at Tottenham again this season, playing a substitute role under Ange Postecoglou at the beginning of this season.
It’s been a continuation of a difficult start to life in London for the defender, who joined in a €25m deal from Genoa in the January transfer window.
That’s not ideal for the 22-year-old, who arrived after impressing in Italy with Genoa and has now found himself out of the picture.
That’s led to suggestions he could be heading bac to Italy in the January transfer window, although his agent has been keen to impress that no talks about such a move have happened yet.
Fasano can’t see it happening either, as he believes Dragusin would only be swapping a place on Tottenham’s bench for one on Napoli’s instead.
“A central defender will arrive for me,” he said about Napoli’s plans in January.
“There is talk of Dragusin, but I think the player is not content with being on the bench. I don’t know if he would accept being the first replacement for Buongiorno and Rrahmani.”
