Celtic player’s efforts ‘in vain’ – Tried his best but exit on horizon

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers hasn’t been utilising Luis Palma in recent weeks. The winger has clocked in 106 minutes from four games for the Scottish club this season.

The Honduras international hasn’t made an appearance for Celtic since their 5-2 Scottish League Cup win over Falkirk in September.

Recent claims in Scotland have stated the 24-year-old could leave Celtic Park in January.

Wednesday’s edition of Honduran newspaper El Heraldo relays that and then shares their own take on the attacker.

Honduras manager Reinaldo Rueda reportedly left him out of the squad for this month’s international break, to let him regain his form at Celtic. The coach had categorised his situation in Glasgow as ‘high risk’.

Palma took advantage of the international break to score a hat-trick for Celtic in a friendly. This wasn’t enough for him to convince Brendan Rodgers, who continued to overlook him during last weekend’s 2-2 draw against Aberdeen.

El Heraldo state the Celtic players tried his best, but his efforts are ‘in vain’ because of his current situation. If things don’t improve in the coming weeks, Palma could leave the club in the winter market.

Earlier this month, his father said that a move away from Celtic in January can’t be ruled out.
