Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin is not looking to move on in the January transfer window and reports about a potential switch to Napoli are short of the mark.
That’s according to his agent Florin Manea, via Calcio Napoli 24, who has ruled out an exit for his client at this moment in time.
Dragusin has continued to find himself on the fringes at Tottenham this season since arriving in the January transfer window.
He’s behind both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the pecking order which means that the 22-year-old has only managed two appearances totalling 99 minutes in the Premier League and one seven-minute appearance in the Europa League alongside 90 minutes in the EFL Cup.
That has led to speculation that he could be moving in January, with reports in Italy stating that Napoli could make a move for him as they continue to strengthen Antonio Conte’s squad.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone, and I don’t think Tottenham want to let him go,” he said.
“Radu is focused and wants to play his chances with Spurs. I’ve seen the news too, but – I repeat – I haven’t heard from anyone. We like that many teams are following him, but I also told the others who called me that – to date – we are not interested.
“No player is happy if he doesn’t play a lot, but he wants to fight for his place. We’ll see later how many games he plays, and we’ll evaluate, at this moment it’s premature to think about a transfer.”
That’s a distinct change of tone from Manea, who has been more than happy to publically sell Dragusin over the last few months as he’s struggled for minutes at Tottenham.
Now he seems determined to insist his client is happy where he is and not moving, even when transfer talks are encouraging him to say otherwise.
