Brighton & Hove Albion’s Jakub Moder has emerged as a candidate for VfB Stuttgart next summer.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who state multiple factors make the midfielder an interesting option for the German club.
Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has already signed Deniz Undav and Mo Dahoud from Brighton in the summer window.
Wohlgemuth and his side are now keeping close tabs on Moder. He made an appearance this season and it came in the Seagulls EFL Cup win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last month.
Brighton invested €11m to buy the Poland international from Lech Poznań in 2020. He has a deal expiring at the end of this season and the Premier League side face a risk of losing him for nothing next summer.
Sky state the 25-year-old can operate as a defensive or box-to-box midfielder. His profile and qualities make him well suited to Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeneß’s style of football.
Within the Bundesliga side, they view Moder as a ‘very interesting’ option, taking sporting and financial aspects into consideration. A possible deal is in the early stages and Stuttgart haven’t held concrete talks with the Brighton player so far.
If Fabian Hürzeler’s side wish to retain him, they’ll have to act fast and offer Moder a new contract.
