Real Madrid have not contacted Trent Alexander-Arnold’s entourage about a transfer yet, but have spoken to the Liverpool star’s agent, his brother, about a move.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who report that the Spanish giants have not ruled out the option of signing the Liverpool defender in the coming months.
According to their information, Real Madrid have ‘indirectly conveyed’ to Alexander Arnold’s agents that he should like to any proposal before making a decision on his future.
Alexander-Arnold’s current contract at Liverpool expires in the summer and neither he nor the club are seemingly working on a renewal at this moment in time.
Recent reports have stated that they’ve already been in touch with the Liverpool star and his entourage but Cadena SER dispute that.
They say that while Alexander-Arnold is one of Real Madrid’s targets to reinforce the right-back spot, and they are ‘closely following him, there have been no major moves to sign him.
The initial idea was to sign him on a free next season but the injury to Carvajal has pushed timelines forwards and a move in January is not off the cards.
However, Real Madrid have not contacted the footballer’s entourage directly yet, instead ‘indirectly’ informing the Liverpool man’s agent, his brother, to let them know about their intentions before making any moves. In other words, hold off on signing a renewal and speak to them first.
It is that which has seemingly prompted reports this week, but the reality is that Real Madrid want to just remain informed, and potentially submit their own proposal, before Alexander-Arnold does anything.
