Earlier this week, we covered multiple claims from Spain which stated Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla have shown interest in Espanyol’s Javi Puado.

It was also reported the Andalusian club are worried about losing out to Spurs in the transfer race.

Tottenham’s interest in the 26-year-old is backed up by La Razón, who have shared more updates on this case.

Their title says the north London club ‘threaten to take’ the striker away from the La Liga side in January.

In the summer window, Ange Postecoglou’s side allowed Alejo Véliz to join Espanyol on a season-long loan deal. The 21-year-old Argentine has a goal from nine games.

Paudo has ended up on the radar of Spurs officials, who have been following Véliz at Espanyol. It’s claimed they’ve prepared ‘very positive reports’ about the Spaniard.

He has less than a year left on his deal. Without a renewal, Espanyol could be forced to sell the frontman in January, to avoid losing him for free next summer.

Tottenham can take advantage of this situation to sign Paudo for a ‘very affordable’ price. La Razón have made no mention of the fee they could offer or Espanyol’s request.
