The Egyptian media are getting a little carried away with Omar Marmoush and his rise to prominence.

On Tuesday, we covered claims from various Egyptian sport journalists which talked up the Eintracht Frankfurt forward, with there even being the suggestion he could eventually be better than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

This week’s edition of SportBild also has a piece on Marmoush, and it’s claimed Liverpool have been following him for a long time, with West Ham United also showing interest in a future move.

A transfer to the Premier League is said to be the player’s ‘dream’, and whilst both Liverpool and West ham could make that dream come true, the Reds look to be far more attractive for the forward.

During the summer he’s said to have turned down both Nottingham Forest and Fulham, because of a belief he can aim much higher than either if he does eventually get a Premier League move.

That obviously suggests Liverpool would be more attractive to him than West Ham, and there’s also the chance of working alongside Salah.

The 32-year-old is presented as Marmoush’s ‘great role model’, and the Egyptian media have already got excited about the prospect of them playing together at club level.
