Albert Sambi Lokonga is on loan at Sevilla this season, having left Arsenal on a loan deal in the summer.
So far in his loan stint at Sevilla, the midfielder has faced injury issues that have held his progress back. He’s played only three games in La Liga, starting twice, and he came off the bench in his recent appearance against Real Betis.
The Belgian spent last season on loan at Luton Town. In this latest loan, Arsenal have given Sevilla an option to buy Lokonga for a fee of around €12m.
That is why they had agreed to sign Lokonga for that deal and the feeling is that Arsenal ‘can be more open’ to negotiating that figure down in the next few months.
The Belgian’s current deal at the Emirates runs out in the summer of 2026 and the Andalusian club believe they can use that in their negotiations.
