The uncle of West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta, Bruno Tolentino, has been summoned to appear before a commission to answer questions regarding ‘allegations of match-fixing’.
That’s according to O Estado de Sao Paulo, who report that there is more trouble on the way for the West Ham man and his family.
The Brazilian midfielder is currently under investigation in his home country and in England regarding allegations of illegal betting on football matches.
He was charged earlier this year by the FA for allegedly getting booked deliberately on three separate occasions in matches from 2022/23 season. That has since been increased to four separate games.
The latest step in that is focusing on his uncle and a Brazilian businesswoman Deolane Bezerra, who have both been summoned by the Sports Betting and Game Manipulation CPI.
They are investigating allegations and suspicions of match fixing in Brazilian football, mainly focused on the sports betting market and want to speak to the West Ham man’s uncle on the matter.
Their ‘summons’ has now been approved and he is set to appear, and potentially add to the problems that are mounting for the West Ham star.
